Hemlock is a softwood that can rival many hardwoods as it is strong yet easy to work with. This is a wood that is known to actually grow harder with age! The warm honey tone is uniformly colored and adds a nice contrast to the planting space above. Hemlock is a nice, budget-friendly alternative to cedar and will hold up well outdoors if properly treated.
